Neugestaltung des K-Blocks im Leverkusen Chempark schafft ein attraktives Arbeitsumfeld
Projects

New design of K-Block at Chempark Leverkusen creates an attractive working environment

For several years now, a vision has existed of an attractive and modern administration center created for the subgroups and chemical companies at the heart of the Leverkusen production site: the Chemical Park Administration Campus (CPAC).

This project is now in the process of being implemented under the management of Bayer Real Estate.

K-Block, along the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Allee at Chempark Leverkusen, was considered from the very beginning to be an ideal location due to its central position and proximity to Group headquarters and the "Kasino" restaurant. Opinion was unanimous that a brand new design for this rather dull-looking factory area with its closed-down workshop buildings would give it a fresh and attractive appearance. With the construction of a modern office building and an open-design parking garage, this project is an important milestone and achieves a further high point through the creation of a new recreation area.

New recreation area with a park-like atmosphere
Between buildings K56 and K17/19, an area of land was flattened out to create a new green space. A park-like area such as this in the middle of the factory site makes for a pleasant and relaxed working environment, while the added paved areas allow all kinds of outdoor events. The many paths ensure ready access in all directions. The lighting, which comes from several "CitySpirit Street Color" lamps, creates a harmonious and modern ambience. Seats, flower beds and grass areas are an open invitation to relax. The construction work will be concluded in fall 2010 when the multi-functional square is filled with plants. Plant sculptures, bushes and roses, evergreen magnolias, tulip trees and amber trees give the area a special charm.

Redevelopment of the area around what was formerly gate 2 (Pförtner 2) will provide K-Block with another fresh highlight. At present, demolition of the old workshop buildings K3, K6, K7 and K8 is in progress to make room for more parking spaces.
